Chhattisgarh govt reshuffles 43 IAS officers

The Chhattisgarh government has issued transfer and posting orders for 43 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers in a major administrative reshuffle. The General Administration Department released the notification on Wednesday following instructions from the state administration.

Key administrative changes

Richa Sharma (1994 batch), previously Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) for Forest and Climate Change, has been posted as ACS for Panchayat and Rural Development. She will also hold additional charge as Director General of the Thakur Pyarelal State Institute of Panchayat and Rural Development.

Manoj Kumar Pingua (1994 batch), ACS for Home and Jail, will now serve as ACS for Forest and Climate Change.

Subodh Kumar Singh (1997 batch), Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been given additional charge as Secretary for the Energy Department and Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Power Companies.

Niharika Barik (1997 batch) has been shifted from Panchayat and Rural Development to serve as Secretary for Home and Jail.

District collector appointments

The reshuffle includes several new appointments for District Collectors across the state:

  • Korea: Pushpa Sahu (2012 batch)
  • Surajpur: Rena Jamil (2019 batch)
  • Bijapur: Vishwadeep (2019 batch)
  • Sarangarh-Bilaigarh: Padmini Bhoi Sahu (2016 batch)
  • Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi: Santosh Kumar Dewangan (2013 batch)
  • Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur: Santan Devi Jangde (2016 batch)

Major department shifts

Dr Rohit Yadav (2002 batch) has been moved from Public Relations to the Finance Department as Secretary. He will also oversee the Pension Settlement Committee.

Mukesh Kumar Bansal (2005 batch) has been posted as Secretary for Public Works Department (PWD) and Aviation, while also serving as Secretary to the Chief Minister.

In the health sector, Rajendra Kumar Katara (2013 batch) has been appointed Special Secretary for Health and Family Welfare.

Sanjeev Kumar Jha (2011 batch) will now serve as Managing Director of the National Health Mission.

The state government has also adjusted the roles of several Secretary-level officers in departments including Food and Civil Supplies, School Education, and Agriculture. These orders come into effect immediately.
