Raipur Police hold ‘Samvaad se Samadhan’ outreach in Kotwali zone

Raipur:
Raipur Police organized an extensive ‘Samvaad se Samadhan’ (Solution through Dialogue) community policing programme across the Kotwali division of the Central Zone on Thursday. The initiative aimed at establishing direct communication with residents to gather feedback and address local grievances.

The DCP Central Zone oversaw the campaign, where station house officers (SHOs) and their teams visited high-footfall areas to interact with the public. Inspector Satish Singh Gaharwar, SHO Kotwali, met residents at the Nagar Nigam Garden, while SHO Ganj Inspector Deepak Paswan held a session near Chunabhatti School. Similar interactions took place at the Mekahara hospital premises led by SHO Maudahapara Inspector Shakti Singh, and at the Rajiv Awas area led by SHO Golbazar Inspector Swaraj Tripathi.

Police officials briefed citizens on the utility of emergency helplines, including Dial 112, the cyber fraud helpline 1930, and the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. They also shared information regarding women and child help desks. Officers encouraged residents to share confidential information about drug-related crimes and other illegal activities. To ensure better accessibility, landline numbers of respective police stations were shared with the public.

The outreach bore immediate results following information received during a previous session held two days ago. Acting on a tip-off about gambling in the Paras Nagar area, Ganj police conducted a raid and arrested three individuals. The accused have been identified as Monu Yadav (20), Mohammad Nawab (32), and Jittu Thakur (26).

Police seized ₹2,100 in cash and playing cards from the spot. A case has been registered under Section 3(2) of the Chhattisgarh Gambling Prohibition Act, 2022. Additionally, the police initiated proceedings under Sections 126 and 135 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) due to concerns over breach of peace. The accused were produced before the Special Executive Magistrate, Kotwali, and subsequently sent to Raipur Central Jail.

The department stated that the ‘Samvaad se Samadhan’ programme aims to ensure swift action on public feedback and strengthen the security environment in the city.
