President Droupadi Murmu to visit Chhattisgarh on 7 February

Raipur

President Droupadi Murmu will visit Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh on February 7 to inaugurate the divisional-level Bastar Pandum programme. The state administration has accelerated preparations for the high-profile visit.

The Chief Secretary, Vikas Sheel, recently chaired a high-level meeting at the Mahanadi Bhawan to review security arrangements, protocol, and logistics. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary interacted with the Bastar Collector via video conferencing and directed the local administration to complete all ground-level preparations at the earliest.

Senior officials have issued directives to ensure a multi-tier security ring at the venue. The administration is focusing on traffic management, medical facilities, and emergency response protocols. The Raipur Collector has also been tasked with overseeing arrangements for the President’s arrival and departure at the state capital before she proceeds to Jagdalpur.

The Bastar Pandum is a significant cultural event for the region, and the President’s participation is expected to draw a large gathering of tribal communities and local representatives. Bastar Pandum is a traditional tribal cultural festival of the Bastar region in Chhattisgarh, celebrated to showcase and preserve the rich heritage of the area’s indigenous communities.
