Kharge, Rahul Gandhi to meet Chhattisgarh Congress leaders today

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will chair a high-level meeting with senior leaders from Chhattisgarh at the AICC headquarters at 5 pm today. The meeting comes following a summons from the party high command to discuss the political roadmap for the state.

The delegation from Chhattisgarh includes:

- Former Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo
- Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Deepak Baij

Other senior state office-bearers have also reached the national capital to participate in the deliberations.
Focus on MNREGA and SIR
According to party sources, the meeting will focus on formulating a strategy to counter the Centre’s policies regarding the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The leadership is expected to finalize the blueprint for state-wide protests and agitations on these issues. Discussions will also cover:
- Pending organizational appointments in the state unit
- Strengthening the grassroots cadre for upcoming electoral challenges
- Identifying specific districts to intensify party activity
Reports on state unit
PCC President Deepak Baij is scheduled to present a detailed report on recent party activities and organizational health. The high command intends to use the experience of senior leaders like Bhupesh Baghel and TS Singh Deo to bolster the party’s presence in the state.
