DiaSys India marketing head arrested in CGMSC scam

Raipur
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Kunjal Sharma, the marketing head of Navi Mumbai-based DiaSys India Private Limited, in connection with the Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation (CGMSC) scam. The arrest was made on 21 January 2026 under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The bureau is investigating crime number 05/2025, which involves charges of criminal breach of trust, forgery, and conspiracy. Investigations revealed that DiaSys India Private Limited had fixed specific Maximum Retail Prices (MRP) for medical reagents and consumables. However, Sharma allegedly bypassed company policy to favour Mokshat Corporation.
In conspiracy with Shashank Chopda, Sharma reportedly sent unauthorised higher rates and terms to CGMSC on behalf of his company. These rates were significantly higher than the actual MRP. Consequently, CGMSC accepted these inflated prices, leading to the supply of materials at nearly three times the actual cost. This resulted in the misappropriation of public funds through undue payments to Mokshat Corporation.
The accused was produced before the Special Court (Anti-Corruption) in Raipur today. The court has granted police remand for Sharma until 27 January 2026.
The state government is currently probing all aspects of the misappropriation of funds in the ‘Hamar Lab’ scheme, a public welfare initiative. Authorities stated that responsibility will be fixed based on evidence, and strict legal action will be taken against all individuals involved in the corruption case.
