Film on Oraon Tribe in Kurukh language, included in International Film Festival.

For the first time in the country, a Kurukh language film of the Oraon tribe has been included in the Lensfam International Film Festival 2022. The film was shot in the beautiful plains of Surguja and Jashpur district in Chhattisgarh. The film focuses on tribal art culture.

Film’s director Inus Kujur told reporters in Pathalgaon that the film depicts the problems arising out of inter-caste marriage and the struggle of a tribal girl after her husband’s death due to Covid. He said that for the first time a Kurukh language film ‘Jahar Jinagi Gahi’ got a place on the international stage. Made in Kurukh language, every aspect of the language, civilization, culture of the Oraon tribe has been shown finely in this film.

Parliamentary Secretary UD Minz has also expressed happiness over the selection of the film “Jahar Jinagi Gahi” in the International Film Festival. Congratulations to Inus Bhai, Head of Jharna Arts Group and his entire film unit for taking the language, civilization, and culture of the Oraon tribe to the world .
