Raipur. UP police reportedly pushed the CSP who had gone to UP to arrest the news anchor, Rohit Ranjan, in Ghaziabad on Tuesday. Rohit Ranjan had allegedly made a fake video of Rahul Gandhi. In a dramatic turn of events, the UP police pulled Raipur City Superintendent of Police Udayan Behar’s collar and pushed him during a scuffle.
Raipur SSP Prashant Agrawal said that the police had gone to the spot with a warrant for the arrest of Rohit Ranjan. The local police obstructed the action. “Now we are discussing the legal aspects with the experts. After that we will take further action.” said the Raipur SSP.
Indirapuram police in Ghaziabad and the police force of Noida surrounded the team of 15 policemen from Raipur and did not allow action against Rohit Ranjan. The Noida Police has Rohit in their custody.
This happened inside the flat of the news anchor
Along with CSP Udayan of Raipur, Anti Crime Unit personnel and some DSP rank officers arrived in Ghaziabad. The team reached the news anchor’s flat in the Indirapuram area around 5:15 am. The team of Raipur Police took the mobile phone of the security guard of the flat and entered. The team first met Rohit Ranjan’s elder brother and enquired about Rohit Ranjan, who was also in the house. The Raipur Police informed that they have a court warrant for the arrest of Rohit Ranjan and showed the court orders to the UP police, but the UP police did not accept.
Rohit Ranjan was not cooperating in the arrest, according to Raipur police. He immediately posted a tweet tagging the UP Police, in which he claimed that he was being forcibly arrested. Within no time there was an uproar in the residential colony that 15-20 goons have arrived to attack Rohit Ranjan. Someone informed the police on dial 100, and in response, Indirapuram police reached Rohit Ranjan’s house.
When UP police came, Raipur police and Rohit were present in the flat. Seeing the police officers who arrived in civil clothes, the UP police objected and asked for ID. When Udayan Behar showed his ID to the sub-inspector of the Indirapuram police station, he said that the ID can also be fake. There was also a heated argument between the team of Raipur Police and the team of UP Police regarding this matter.
The CSP Udayan Behar also showed the court warrant to the sub-inspector. UP Police Sub Inspector started telling Behar that drama will be created here because of you. Udayan Behar put on the uniform after some time, suddenly the Noida Police reached Rohit Ranjan’s house, Noida Police claimed that a case is registered against Rohit Ranjan in Noida, in this case, he has to be taken into custody. Due to this, there was a clash between the police of Indirapuram police station, Noida Police and the Raipur team of UP. A scuffle ensued to take Rohit Ranjan away. Even after CSP Udayan was in uniform, the UP Police personnel pushed him by holding the collar. The jawans of the Anti Crime Unit were also not allowed to sit in that vehicle. The Noida Police took Rohit Ranjan out with them.
The news channel anchor Rohit Ranjan aired a video clip of Rahul Gandhi on his show. The statement Rahul Gandhi was given in this video clip was said to be a statement related to the Udaipur incident. Congress claims that it was a statement from some other programme which was broadcast falsely. A case has been registered against Rohit Ranjan in Chhattisgarh in this connection.
