Government urged to provide jobs, Rs 1 crore compensation for Bahpani accident victims’ families

In the wake of a tragic road accident in Bahpani village, within the jurisdiction of Kukdur police station, 19 tribal laborers lost their lives on Monday. The incident has shaken not only the state but also the nation. On Tuesday, the 19 laborers were carried out for their last rites from Semraha village, with villagers bidding a tearful farewell. Deputy CM and Home Minister Vijay Sharma also attended the funeral ceremony.

The local tribal community has demanded that the state government provide government jobs to the families of the 19 accident victims according to their qualifications. They also demanded compensation of Rs 1 crore each for the family members of the deceased.

Mukesh Kumar Dhurve, president of the Kukdur Central Region Tribal Society, emphasized that providing government jobs and substantial compensation is crucial to ensure that the affected families do not face difficulties in their livelihood. Despite this demand, the government has announced compensation of 5 lakh rupees to the families of the deceased and 50 thousand rupees to the injured. Directives have also been issued for the better treatment of the injured. Since the incident, Home Minister and Kawardha MLA Vijay Sharma has been in constant contact with the villagers and was present from the morning to attend the funeral ceremony.

Thorough Investigation of the Incident – Deputy CM Vijay Sharma

Regarding the incident, Deputy CM Vijay Sharma stated that the government stands with the families of the deceased and the community in this time of grief. He assured that all possible help would be provided. The Deputy CM also mentioned that all demands would be considered, further actions would be taken, and a thorough investigation into the entire incident would be conducted.
