Police in Raipur expose drug network inspired by ‘Money Heist’

A drug trade was operating under the guise of characters from the Money Heist web series. The police exposed this racket on Tuesday. The accused identified themselves as ‘Professor’ and the drug peddlers were named Lucifer and Berlin.
The Khambhardih police apprehended these suspects from a hotel in Raipur. They were found in possession of expensive drugs MDMA and Cocaine. Additionally, a luxury car was seized from the accused.
The Khambhardih police revealed the drug trade and arrested four individuals, including a woman. A raid was meticulously planned.
Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh stated that the police received information about some individuals staying at a hotel in Raipur. These individuals possessed drugs named MDMA and Cocaine. The police planned to apprehend these suspects. A female peddler was also involved.
Subsequently, a police officer was sent posing as a customer to the accused. Upon obtaining solid information, a joint team of the Anti-Crime Unit and Khambhardih police raided the Dhotre Marriage Garden in the Khambhardih area.
Here, two drug peddlers named Kusum Hinduja and Chirag Sharma were apprehended. Small polythene bags containing drugs were found during the search. During interrogation, they disclosed the whereabouts of Ayush Agrawal and Mahesh Singh, who were also apprehended from a hotel.
Apart from drugs, the accused were found in possession of expensive mobile phones and jewelry.
Police interrogation revealed that the accused named themselves after characters from the Money Heist web series to sell drugs discreetly. Ayush Agrawal identified himself as Professor, Kusum Hinduja as Lucifer, and Chirag Sharma as Berlin. They addressed each other by these names during phone conversations.

One of the accused, Mahesh Singh, is a resident of Delhi. He used to supply drugs to Ayush. It is suspected that Mahesh procured these drugs from a Nigerian group. The drugs were then transported to Raipur through a drug train. Subsequently, they were supplied to big parties. Police are currently investigating the electronic items seized from them. Further arrests are expected in this case.
Items worth Rs 50 lakh, including 17 small polythene bags containing 2100mg MDMA and 6600mg Cocaine, an Audi car, an electronic weighing machine, 8 mobile phones, 3 gold chains, and an iPad, were seized from the accused. Police are taking action under the Narcotics Act in this case.
