In a recent development, Rajnandgaon Kotwali police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Leader of Opposition Dr. Chatandas Mahant over his contentious statement, allegedly mentioning breaking PM Narendra Modi’s head. This action comes after BJP lodged a complaint with the Election Commission regarding the matter. Under the guidance of the District Election Officer, SDM Atul Vishwakarma, the FIR has been registered at the police station in Rajnandgaon. Mahant’s statement in Chhattisgarhi language has been cited as the basis for this FIR, indicating that further steps will be taken in due course.
Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai expressed his discontent, stating that if Congress members possess the courage, they should first strike him on the head. Additionally, Sai hinted at concerns regarding Mahant’s mental equilibrium, suggesting that it might have been disturbed.

Mahant also targeted businessmen in his speech, specifically mentioning Naveen Jindal and alleging their involvement in the exploitation of resources in Raigarh and Puri. He openly advocated for them to be admonished, even suggesting that they deserve to be beaten with shoes.
In response to the uproar, Mahant clarified his statement, asserting that his words were misconstrued. Emphasizing his affiliation with the Kabirpanthi sect, he disclaimed the ability to make such erroneous statements and extended apologies if his words caused offense to anyone.
Meanwhile, Finance Minister OP Choudhary weighed in, highlighting that “Modi” symbolizes not just a person but also a vision that is propelling India towards development. He boldly declared, “I am also Modi, hit me with a stick,” while condemning the Congress for its tactics of fear-mongering and authoritarianism.
Adding to the commotion, other BJP leaders staged a protest outside Mahant’s government bungalow in Raipur, symbolically offering themselves to be subjected to the same treatment they accused Mahant of advocating.
