Raipur Traffic Police launches ‘Traffic School’ at intersections to educate traffic offenders

Raipur
In an innovative move, the Raipur Traffic Police has introduced a novel approach towards handling traffic offenders. Instead of imposing fines, the police department has initiated ‘Yatayat Ki Paathshala’ (Traffic School) at various traffic squares across the city to educate violators about traffic rules. Concurrently, under the ‘Nijaat’ campaign spearheaded by the police, awareness drives are being conducted to combat drunk driving.
Under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Santosh Singh, aimed at enhancing and securing the capital’s traffic system while fostering awareness about traffic regulations among citizens, this initiative has been launched. As part of this initiative, offenders and vehicle drivers are being educated about traffic rules and compliance directly at intersections.
Expert officers from the Raipur traffic police are conducting these educational sessions at intersections, providing insights into traffic regulations and offering training on adherence. Furthermore, individuals are pledging to uphold traffic rules in the future by signing a traffic pledge.
To bolster the city’s traffic system, stringent actions and fines are being imposed on violators. Additionally, various endeavors, including awareness campaigns, are underway to refine the traffic system.
In continuation of these efforts, a Traffic School program was inaugurated at prominent locations such as Shastri Chowk, Marine Drive, and Railway Station Chowk in the city, with SSP Santosh Singh leading the inauguration ceremony at Shastri Chowk. He appealed to violators and drivers to embrace responsible citizenship by adhering to traffic rules and regulations. A collective pledge was taken to diligently follow all traffic rules in the future.
Moreover, Additional Police Superintendents of Police (Traffic) Raipur, Om Prakash Sharma, and Dr. Anurag Jha inaugurated Traffic School classes at Telibandha Talab and the railway station premises, respectively.
In these instructional sessions, violators receive comprehensive knowledge about traffic rules through interactive classes, followed by assessments. Those who demonstrate understanding and compliance are exempt from fines, while those who fall short undergo further educational sessions. Additionally, pledges are signed committing to future adherence to traffic rules, ensuring the city’s traffic is managed efficiently and safely.
During interactions with the media at Shastri Chowk, SSP Raipur affirmed that the Raipur Traffic Police will consistently establish Traffic Schools at intersections. These schools aim to conduct on-road traffic classes for violators, educating them about traffic regulations and the ramifications of non-compliance, while also obtaining pledges from them.
