AAP Chhattisgarh President Komal Hupendi among seven resign

Raipur
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chhattisgarh president Komal Hupendi and six office bearers of the party have resigned on Tuesday reportedly after the party failed to perform to the expectations in the assembly elections 2023.
Sources also said that there was discontent among the AAP state workers for making alliance with I.N.D.I. Alliance. According to Komal Hupendi, the party suffered losses in the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections due to the alliance. He however also expressed his commitment to continue working for Chhattisgarh people in the future.
Other party office bearers resigned are Anand Prakash Miri(Senior State Vice President), Vishal Kelkar (State Secretary), Ravindra Singh Thakur (State President Youth Wing), Dharam Bhargav (State President SC Wing), Kamal Kant Sahu (State President OBC Wing), Basant Kujur (State President ST Wing). Hupendi contested elections twice from Bhanupratappur constituency, but lost.
Hupendi hails from Bhanupratappur in Bastar division. He joined the party in 2016. A history graduate, Komal served as a cooperative officer and CEO of the cooperative bank from 2007 to 2016. After leaving his job, he has been actively involved in politics for the past 8 years. He served as the State President of the Aam Aadmi Party in Chhattisgarh for the last 5 years.
AAP’s chief spokesperson, Suraj Upadhyay, mentioned that the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party was for the fight of the last person. It was initiated to reach education and healthcare to the people and to curb corruption prevalent in the country. Those who had the zeal joined the party.
However, the fight requires the spirit of determination. I feel that the determination of those colleagues who have resigned has weakened. Due to this, they are leaving the party in the middle. We wish them a bright future.
AAP’s senior state vice president and former election candidate from Akaltara, Anand Prakash Miri, stated that in the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections, we were preparing to contest on 90 assembly seats. However, due to the India alliance, we only fielded candidates on 55 seats. We were well-prepared for the remaining 35 seats as well. However, due to the India alliance, we suffered heavy losses, leading to discontent among the workers.
