Shocking Gang Rape of 17-Year-Old Girl in Raipur’s Multi-Level Parking Complex Sparks Political Outcry
Dispatch News.
A 17-year-old girl fell victim to a horrifying gang rape within the premises of a multi-level parking complex situated at Raipur’s Jai Stambh Chowk, which notably houses the City SP’s office. This deeply distressing incident has ignited a fierce political controversy, with the BJP placing blame on the Congress for the deteriorating law and order situation. Deputy Chief Minister TS Singhdev expressed his dismay over the incident, deeming it unfortunate.
Singhdev lamented that such a grievous crime occurred at a location under the jurisdiction of law enforcement agencies, stressing that individuals should not have the audacity to commit such acts. In response to the BJP’s accusations, he acknowledged their concerns but argued that it’s impossible to predict such incidents. He asserted that swift and severe punishment is key to preventing such crimes.
Here’s what BJP leaders have been saying:
- Former minister Rajesh Munat took to Twitter, stating, “Daughters are not safe in Nava Chhattisgarh. Incidents of violence and threats to the police are happening at a place named after Veer Narayan Singh in the capital. It’s concerning when even the Additional SP office, which is seen as the symbol of law enforcement, couldn’t prevent the gang rape of a minor. Where has the administration been?”
- Brijmohan Aggarwal tweeted, “In the heart of Raipur, at Jai Stambh Chowk, right beneath the Additional SP office, where the government boasts of ‘effective law and order,’ three perpetrators subjected a minor girl to a horrific ordeal while the administration seemed oblivious. Is this the state’s idea of law and order? The safety of our state’s daughters is at stake if such incidents happen near the Additional SP office.”
Amit Jogi commented, “Priyanka Ji came to Chhattisgarh after nine months. The Congress government’s ‘achievement’ is that three women are raped every day. That means over 800 daughters of Chhattisgarh have become victims in these nine months. While Priyanka Ji was speaking at the Congress ‘Women’s Conference’ in Bhilai, a minor girl was being gang-raped in Raipur, right in the parking lot of the ASP office.”
Jogi added, “‘I am a girl; I can fight.’ The government has unfortunately made our Chhattisgarh sisters ponder, ‘I am a girl; why do I live in Chhattisgarh?’ Before hosting the ‘Women’s Conference,’ educate your ministers on ‘respecting women.’ They’ve turned Raipur into ‘Rapepur.’ The government is shielding criminals and rapists, not serving as their deterrent.”
