Strengthening Emergency Response: 400 new vehicles allocated to Dial 100/112 service

Raipur: The police emergency response service Dial 100/112, which aids in providing assistance in emergency situations,  will receive an allocation of 400 new vehicles. Under the guidance of chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, the Finance Department has approved a budget of Rs 33 crores for the procurement of these vehicles.

These vehicles will be disbursed across all 33 districts of the state. In 2018, this scheme was introduced in 11 districts, leading to the purchase of 252 vehicles. While most of the vehicles purchased in 2018 have completed their mileage, some are expected to reach that point in the coming months. Therefore, the necessity for new vehicles arose to effectively manage this system and to deploy the new vehicles in all districts.

According to the approval provided by the Central Purchase Committee, the purchase of vehicles will be conducted through the online order issuance in the Government e-Marketplace (GEM) system, based on the availability and rates of vehicles listed on the website, said the officials.

Meanwhile, service has proved its utility during emergency situations by swiftly delivering necessary help to citizens. With the integration of 400 new vehicles into this service, its emergency response capacity will be further strengthened, expanding its benefits to a larger population. The state government has recognized the significance of this scheme and has granted administrative approval for its implementation throughout the entire state. As a result, provisions have been made to purchase new vehicles for the service.
