CM Baghel extends his greetings to the people of the state on Independence Day

Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel extended warm wishes to the state’s people on the 76th Independence Day celebration. He emphasised that India attained freedom through the relentless struggle and sacrifice made by the forefathers. He paid homage to nameless warriors, martyrs, and brave soldiers who sacrificed for India’s liberty, shaping the freedom movement. Their contributions paved the way for the free atmosphere that the people of India enjoy today. 

Reflecting on history, Baghel underscored the need to grasp freedom’s true essence. He commended the foresight and diligence of the forefathers that enabled India to overcome numerous hurdles and evolve into the world’s largest democracy.

He emphasised that now the people must realise the dreams of being a democratic republic nation as envisioned by the forefathers. The state government marches towards achieving ‘Gadhbo Nava Chhattisgarh’, prioritising the upliftment of the vulnerable, village empowerment, and universal access to basic amenities. Schemes like ‘Suraji Gaon Yojana’, ‘Rajiv Gandhi Kisan NYAY’ Yojana, ‘Godhan NYAY Yojana’, and ‘Bhumiheen Krishi Majdoor NYAY Yojana’ embodied Gandhian ideals, fostering economic growth and cultural preservation. The state government’s initiatives aim to empower farmers and women, bolstering grassroots communities.

In the last five years, Chhattisgarh’s development has soared under the state government’s guidance, fulfilling public commitments progressively. Key decisions, including farmer loan waivers, substantial paddy procurement, electricity bills reduced to half, regularisation of Shiksha Karmi, loan waivers for women’s groups, and chit-fund investor refunds, reflect the state government’s focus on public welfare. Forest rights leases and MSP for forest produce have empowered indigenous communities while preserving traditional festivals and folk culture and boosting cultural pride. The state government launched the ‘Mukhyamantri Vriksharopan Protsahan Yojana’ and ‘Maati Poojan Diwas’ to address environmental issues. The state’s strides in education, nutrition, and healthcare services are evident, showcasing its relentless commitment to progress.

He stated that the successful implementation of various pro-people policies fostering dignity, justice, and equality in Chhattisgarh. He urged the people of the state to make collective efforts to sustain progress and fulfil the vision of “Gadhbo Nava Chhattisgarh”, promoting mutual cooperation.
