CM Baghel directs closure of schools in Chhattisgarh until June 26 due to intense heatwave

Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has issued a directive for all government and private schools in the state to remain closed until June 26. The decision is in response to the severe heatwave prevailing in the region. Initially, the announcement for summer vacation in schools was made until June 15.
Opening schools on June 16 could potentially have adverse effects on the students’ health. Hence, the Chief Minister has taken the decision to prolong the summer vacation due to the ongoing heatwave. A partial amendment by the state government has been made, resulting in the extension of the summer break until June 26.
Chief Minister took to Twitter saying that “In view of the scorching heat, instructions have been given to extend the summer vacation of all the schools. All schools will remain closed till June 26. Take care of yourself and your loved ones. It is extremely hot, keep drinking water.”
