President Draupadi Murmu has today awarded the Kirti Chakra to three martyred soldiers of Chhattisgarh for their supreme courage and sacrifice in the Naxal operation. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel bowed down to the three martyred soldiers who attained martyrdom in the Naxalite attack and expressed respect to their families. He said that getting the Kirti Chakra for the supreme courage and sacrifice of the jawans is a moment of pride for the family members and Chhattisgarh.
The President presented the Kirti Chakra to the families of Martyr Sub-Inspector Deepak Bhardwaj, Martyr Head Constable Sodhi Narayan, and Martyr STF Head Constable Shravan Kashyap, who were martyred in Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh, at a dignified ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. At the function, the President presented the Kirti Chakra to Prantika Bhardwaj, wife of Martyr Deepak Bhardwaj. The President awarded the Kirti Chakra to the three jawans for their supreme courage and sacrifice in the Naxal operation in the Bijapur district of the Bastar region.
Sub-inspector martyr Deepak Bhardwaj was a resident of Pehrid of Malkharoda in Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh; constable martyr Sodhi Narayan of Bijapur district, Punur; and STF head constable Shaheed Shravan Kashyap of Bastar district were residents of Baniya village.
