Prime Minister Narendra Modi assures Chhattisgarh of development, targets Congress misrule

BilaspurPrime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the change in regime in Chhattisgarh is a must in the November assembly elections as the people of the state are tormented by the misrule of the Congress government. The Prime Minister, who was addressing the culmination of the two Parivartan Yatras in Bilaspur proclaimed a positive change in the state and highlighted his commitment to its development.Prime Minister Modi expressed his enthusiasm for the warm reception and stated that he had never seen such energy and enthusiasm before. He attributed this newfound zeal to the BJP, which provided him with the opportunity to arrive in an open jeep, further boosting his morale.Modi pointed out the misrule in Chhattisgarh and affirmed the state’s readiness to remove the Congress and bring the BJP to power. He emphasized the need for a change in leadership and praised Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s contribution to the development of Chhattisgarh.
The Prime Minister assured the people of Chhattisgarh that he would spare no effort to fulfill their dreams, emphasizing that their aspirations were now his commitment. He declared that the BJP would form a government in Chhattisgarh and reiterated the party’s dedication to the state’s development, both at the central and state levels.Modi showcased the achievements in railway expansion, comparing the meager funds allocated during the Congress government’s rule to the substantial investment made by the BJP government for the expansion of railways in Chhattisgarh. He emphasized the goal of doubling railway services in the state to facilitate faster and more frequent train services.The Prime Minister criticized the Congress government for mishandling poverty alleviation programs, particularly the Poor Garib Kalyan Yojana. He highlighted corruption within the system and the need to address it for the benefit of the poor.Modi also accused the Congress government of neglecting malnutrition-related deaths and failing to take action. He stated that the government cared more about their own children’s future than the well-being of Chhattisgarh’s children.Regarding the exploitation of the state’s mineral resources, the Prime Minister stressed the BJP government’s efforts to ensure that a portion of the benefits reached the local population. He mentioned the creation of the District Mineral Fund for this purpose and criticized the Congress for opposing the decision when they came to power.Modi asserted that the BJP government would investigate the PSC (Public Service Commission) scam of Chhattisgarh and take strict action against those responsible once they assumed power. He expressed his commitment to the youth of Chhattisgarh and the need for transparency in government appointments.The Prime Minister highlighted the BJP’s dedication to farmers and the direct transfer of funds to their accounts, eliminating middlemen and commissions. He reassured farmers that their needs would be taken care of and mentioned the provision of urea at affordable prices.Modi concluded his speech by thanking the people of Chhattisgarh and BJP leaders, emphasizing the goal of making the lotus bloom in the state. He cited the recent legislation guaranteeing 33 percent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and the Assembly, promising to fulfill the dreams of the people.Bilaspur is the largest district of Chhattisgarh an it has 25 legislative assembly seats, which are crucial for forming a government. Both the Congress and the BJP are putting in their full efforts on all 25 seats of the region.Previously, in 2018 assembly election, the Congress won 14 seats from here, while the BJP won a total of 15 seats, with 7 of them coming from the Bilaspur region. BSP and Jogi Congress won a total of four seats, with Jogi Congress securing two seats and BSP winning two. This was the first region where Congress had to face defeat on 11 seats.In the seats of Kota, Marwahi, and Lormi, Jogi Congress has a significant presence. In Masturi, Beltara, and Bilha, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) plays an important role in both victory and defeat. The political influence of Janjgir-Champa district is quite distinct. BSP appears to have a significant presence in the district’s six legislative assembly seats. In Pali and Jaijaipur as well, BSP has an influential role.
