Raipur

Day after BJP national vice president and former chief minister Dr Raman Singh described his successor Bhupesh Baghelgovernment as ATM of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, the Chhattisgarh chief minister on Wednesday said that he will file a defamation case against Dr Singh. The Chief Minister said that Dr Singh should prove his allegations of ATM and Rs 25 commission collected on every tonne of coal.

Talking to media Baghel said that his finds Dr Singh’s statement objectionable. He should now prove it or else apologize publicly.

The Chief Minister said, Dr Singh is intimidating the bureaucrats, it means he himself is scared. They know the ground reality. If they contest the elections in a fair manner, their condition is not going to remain the same as it was. For this reason they are taking their anger out on the authorities. The same officers were good for 15 years under BJP rule and you are no longer in the government, the same officers turned enemy which is not fair, said Baghel.

Baghel said that his government has taken action against cpalmafias and if Dr Singh show him any record in which BJP government had taken any action. Here out of 58 mines, 52 belong to SECL i.e. Government of India.

After the ED raid started on Tuesday, Dr Raman Singh had said in the press conference, Chhattisgarh is ashamed by the corrupt practices of the government and its bureaucrats. “We never imagined that 40 officers’ houses would be raided by ED. I have been speaking for a year that the  Bhupesh Baghel is the ATM of Congress Party and Sonia Gandhi. I am repeating again – Bhupesh Baghel is Sonia Gandhi’s ATM. Illegal recovery of Rs25 per tonne is being done on coal.”

The Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Narayan Chandel has also come to the fore and said that the job of the opposition is to show the mirror to the government. A day ago ED had raided
