Chhattisgarh CM Releases First Housing Installment for Naxal-Affected Families

Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai today disbursed the first installment of financial assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) to 2,500 families affected by Naxal violence and to surrendered Naxals. The initiative follows a special request by the Chhattisgarh government, after which the central government sanctioned a total of 15,000 houses for such beneficiaries.

An amount of ₹10 crore was directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts, with each of the 2,500 families receiving ₹40,000 as the initial installment for house construction.

The Chief Minister interacted virtually with beneficiaries from 17 districts who were connected to the fund transfer event held at the state secretariat. He congratulated them and expressed hope that the new homes would provide stability and a fresh start.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Subodh Singh, and Principal Secretary of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department Niharika Barik Singh were present at the event.

Also in attendance were the Chief Minister’s Secretary P. Dayanand, Panchayat and Rural Development Secretary Bheem Singh, and PMAY Director Taran Prakash Sinha.
