CG Employees-Officers Federation Demands Equal Dearness Relief, Cashless Healthcare for Pensioners

RAIPUR, October 15: The Chhattisgarh Karmchari Adhikari Federation Pensioners Forum submitted a memorandum today to the Directorate of Pension and Provident Fund at Indrawati Bhavan, Nava Raipur, raising various grievances concerning state pensioners. B.P. Sharma, provincial convener of the forum, led the delegation during a meeting convened by the directorate to address pensioners’ welfare issues.
The memorandum highlights ten key demands, including the disbursement of Dearness Relief (DR) at par with Central Government pensioners, necessary steps to sanction the pending 2% additional dearness relief, and the implementation of cashless medical facilities for pensioners and their families.
The federation emphasized ensuring timely payment of pensions and retirement dues on the day of retirement itself, making online Pension Payment Orders (PPOs) available, and clearing pending pension cases within a stipulated timeframe. The demands also include timely disbursement of gratuity, leave encashment, General Provident Fund (GPF) and other retirement benefits, simplifying family pension procedures, and removing unnecessary delays in issuing non-demand and non-investigation certificates.
Additional proposals seek a progressive increase in pension from the age of 65, quarterly organization of district-level pension grievance redressal camps, free medical and diagnostic facilities in government hospitals, and subsidized or free pilgrimage schemes for pensioners and their spouses.
The federation also requested a review of existing rules and judicial rulings to reduce the pension commutation recovery period from 15 years to 10 years. It stressed the need for measures to ensure financial security and daily living support for elderly retirees.
The director assured the delegation that appropriate action would be taken on the issues raised in the memorandum. The forum expressed hope that positive decisions would be expedited to ensure a secure and dignified life for pensioners across Chhattisgarh.
