CM Sai returns from successful foreign tour of Japan and South Korea

Grand welcome at airport; traditional Karma and Panthi dances fill the atmosphere

After completing his eight-day foreign tour of Japan and South Korea, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai returned to Raipur today. On his arrival, he was given a grand welcome at the airport. The entire airport premises resonated with Chhattisgarhโ€™s traditional Karma and Panthi dances for nearly an hour. The huge turnout of people reflected both the Chief Ministerโ€™s popularity and the success of his foreign visit. He was welcomed with bouquets, garlands, and traditional honors. It took him nearly 15 minutes to cover the 100-meter distance from the airport exit to the media gallery, as people showered flowers to greet him. Later, the Chief Minister addressed the gathering and expressed gratitude for the grand reception.

He said that both Japan and South Korea have large Indian communities, with many people from Chhattisgarh engaged in business activities there. โ€œMeeting them felt very special, and it never felt like we were abroad,โ€ he said. He added that entrepreneurs and businessmen from India are spread across the world and are making the country proud everywhere.

Foreign investment and development opportunities for Chhattisgarh โ€“ Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister said his visit to Japan and South Korea was successful and would open doors for foreign investment and industrial development in Chhattisgarh. He informed that during Prime Minister Narendra Modiโ€™s recent visit to Japan, it was decided that Japan would invest โ‚น6 lakh crore in India over the next 10 years, as part of a comprehensive economic roadmap. A significant share of this investment will also come to Chhattisgarh. He said that agreements between India and Japan will enhance investment opportunities in AI, semiconductors, and defense, creating major employment opportunities for the youth of the state.

Agreements on large-scale investments in AI, semiconductors, textiles, food processing โ€“ The Chief Minister stated that during the tour, discussions were held with Japan and South Korea regarding investment in Chhattisgarh, and agreements were reached for large-scale investments in AI, semiconductors, textiles, and food processing. Several industrial institutions also submitted investment proposals, which are expected to generate significant employment for the youth.

He added that discussions were also held with trade organizations in both Japan and South Korea, who showed a positive outlook towards boosting trade and investment. The Chief Minister informed that they were briefed on Chhattisgarhโ€™s new industrial policy and its grant provisions. They were also told about the strong infrastructure available for investments in AI and semiconductors. He highlighted that Indiaโ€™s first Data Center Park is located in Chhattisgarh and that semiconductor investments are increasing rapidly with financial incentives being provided.

Chhattisgarh showcases industrial opportunities in Japanese at Osaka World Expo โ€“ The Chief Minister said that at the World Expo in Osaka, Japan, Chhattisgarh had set up its pavilion, which attracted over 30,000 visitors every day. Visitors learned in detail about the stateโ€™s industrial potential, investment opportunities, and culture. Proudly, he stated that Chhattisgarh was the only state to present its information entirely in Japanese, which greatly helped in conveying its message to Japanese investors.

First-ever visit of Chhattisgarh delegation to South Korea โ€“ Expressing happiness, the Chief Minister said that for the first time, a Chhattisgarh delegation visited South Korea. There too, information about Chhattisgarh was presented in Korean, which helped build strong connections with investors. He informed that an MoU was signed with ICCKE in South Korea, which will act as a knowledge partner for Chhattisgarh. This will help provide skilled manpower for industries coming under the stateโ€™s new industrial policy.

Concluding, the Chief Minister said, โ€œThrough this tour of Japan and South Korea, we have proven that Chhattisgarh will not remain limited to Indiaโ€™s major investment hubs. We will reach out to the whole world, create a market for Chhattisgarhโ€™s products globally, and bring investment into the state.โ€
