Raipur, July 5, 2025:
Security forces achieved a significant success in anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh, with a Naxalite killed in an encounter in Bijapur and two others arrested in Kanker.
In Bijapur district, an encounter broke out late Friday night, July 4, in the National Park area. According to Bastar Inspector General of Police Sundarraj P., the exchange of fire continued intermittently into Saturday. During the operation, one male Naxalite was killed, and his body along with a weapon was recovered from the site. Intelligence inputs suggest that senior Naxalite cadres were present in the area, prompting the operation.
Security forces had launched the combing operation after receiving information about a significant Naxalite presence. As the troops approached the location, Naxalites opened fire, leading to retaliatory action from the security personnel.
Two Naxalites Arrested in Kanker
In a separate incident, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel arrested two Naxalites — one male and one female — from Minadi village in the Abujhmad region of Kanker district. The operation was carried out by the 47th and 40th Battalions of the BSF. The arrested individuals were found in possession of four country-made firearms and materials used for making improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Security forces continue to maintain high alert in the region, with intensified operations underway in multiple districts of Bastar to crack down on Naxalite activities.
