Three die, six injured in Raipur bus-Hywa collision

RAIPUR: Three passengers were killed and six others severely injured on Tuesday morning after a Royal Travels bus collided with a Hywa truck near Kendri in Abhanpur, Raipur district. The bus (CG 04 E 4060) was en route from Jagdalpur to Raipur when the accident occurred.

The deceased include one woman and two men. Police arrived at the scene shortly after receiving information about the collision and transported the injured to a nearby hospital with the help of 108 ambulances.

Initial reports suggest that the accident was caused by speeding and an attempt to overtake. The impact was severe, causing significant damage to the front of the bus. Parts of the bus were scattered across the road.

Six injured passengers are undergoing treatment. Three are admitted to a private hospital in Abhanpur, while the other three are receiving care at a government hospital.

The police have sent the bodies of the deceased for post-mortem examination and have launched an investigation into the incident. A crane was used to remove the damaged bus from the accident site.
