Raipur:Four new COVID-19 cases were reported in Chhattisgarh—three from Raipur and one from Bilaspur—bringing the total number of active cases in the state to 15. Raipur accounts for the highest number with 10 active cases, followed by Durg with 3, and Bastar and Bilaspur with 1 case each.
The three new cases in Raipur were detected on Tuesday. In the previous two days, seven new active cases had been identified. None of the patients have a travel history. Of the 10 cases in Raipur, 9 patients are under home quarantine, while one is receiving treatment at a private hospital. So far, Raipur has reported 12 COVID-19 cases in total.
In addition, two patients have recovered, indicating that the city has seen a total of 12 cases so far. According to the Health Department, the number of patients presenting with cold, cough, and fever symptoms is on the rise in the capital. In response, a new advisory has been issued.
The Health Department has advised that any patient exhibiting symptoms of Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) or Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) should be reported immediately to the Integrated Health Information Center. Patients recovering with standard medications should also be screened.
Samples from such patients should be sent immediately for COVID-19 testing. All government and private hospitals have been instructed to promptly report cases showing such symptoms.
If required, samples for genome sequencing will be sent to AIIMS Raipur. Community-level reporting of such symptoms through Mitanins (community health workers) is being emphasized. Hospitals have also been directed to ensure the availability of necessary medicines and protective equipment.
