MP Rahul Gandhi Applauds Chhattisgarh Government for Delivering on Promises
Raipur: In a significant event held at the Mela Ground in Nava Raipur on September 2, 2023, MP Rahul Gandhi attended the ‘Rajiv Yuva Mitan Sammelan’ as the Chief Guest. During his address, he commended the Chhattisgarh Government, led by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, for fulfilling every promise made to the state’s public. Among these accomplishments were the waiver of farmers’ loans and a 50 per cent reduction in electricity bills, making a substantial impact on the lives of Chhattisgarh’s citizens.
One of the notable announcements during the event was made by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who declared the discontinuation of the stipend system in state government appointments. This move is expected to streamline the recruitment process and enhance efficiency in government appointments.
MP Rahul Gandhi’s address highlighted the state government’s focus on job creation in Chhattisgarh. He emphasized the importance of utilizing the diverse skills present in the state to create unique products in each district. Additionally, Gandhi urged for increased support to small entrepreneurs through bank linkages and the development of effective marketing strategies, acknowledging the state government’s success in generating new employment opportunities for the youth.
Chhattisgarh’s commitment to agriculture was also underscored, with the state government providing the highest Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy across India, making it a preferred choice for paddy growers nationwide.
The event celebrated the role of youth in the state’s development, with Gandhi highlighting the establishment of Rajiv Yuva Mitan Clubs. These clubs, supported by the government, have attracted three lakh youths, each receiving an annual grant of Rs one lakh. Moreover, the government’s initiatives in securing tribal rights through the PESA Act were recognized, emphasizing the importance of respecting tribal communities’ ownership of land, forests, and water resources.
In his speech, Gandhi reiterated the significance of unity and respect among Indians, emphasizing that progress can only be achieved through peace and cooperation. He called on the youth of Chhattisgarh to shape the future of the nation collectively.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reflected on Gandhi’s visit five years ago and how it influenced schemes benefiting the common people, tribals, and farmers. Notably, Chhattisgarh has eliminated fees for competitive exams, demonstrating the government’s commitment to promoting education and equal opportunities.
The event also highlighted the state’s focus on employment generation, aiming to create 10 to 12 lakh jobs in the next five years. Deputy Chief Minister T S Singh Deo expressed gratitude to Rahul Gandhi for his presence, acknowledging the collective efforts to shape Chhattisgarh’s future.
The program featured several other prominent figures, including Higher Education Minister Umesh Patel, MP Deepak Baij, Phulo Devi Netam, Ranjit Ranjan, and Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Mineral Development Corporation Girish Dewangan.
