Chhattisgarh State Information Commission’s new initiative: Appellants can now join the hearing through their mobile devices

Raipur: Chhattisgarh State Information Commission has launched a pioneering initiative, enabling appellants to engage in the hearings of their second appeals using mobile devices. This novel facility allows appellants to conveniently participate in the proceedings from the comfort of their homes or any other location, leveraging video conferencing technology via their mobile phones.
The facility commenced on June 21 on a trial basis at the Chhattisgarh State Information Commission. Its trial was conducted in the court of State Information Commissioner Manoj Trivedi and State Information Commissioner Dhanvendra Jaiswal in the hearing of several cases.

Under RTI, the cases of Thakur Naval Singh from Bilaspur and Devashish from Kanker were heard in the second appeal hearing, where the appellant attended the hearing through his mobile phone. The appellants thanked the State Information Commission for allowing them to attend the hearing while sitting at home. The appellants praised the initiative of the Commission for saving their time and providing them convenience.
Congratulating the appellants, the State Information Commissioner, Trivedi, said that the appellants should use a better mobile network so that they can access better audio and video quality. The State Information Commissioner, Mr. Jaiswal, also congratulated the appellants and said that they can now attend the hearing of cases through their mobile while sitting at home or in other places. He stated that earlier, the appellants were attending the hearing by visiting the State Information Commissioner’s courtroom or the NIC’s video-conferencing room located in the respective districts’ collector’s office. Now, appellants will also have the opportunity to join the hearings on their mobile devices.
Appellants will join hearings through mobile
Chhattisgarh State Information Commission Secretary G.R. Churendra, said that trials have started to allow the candidates to attend the second appeal hearing through a mobile connection. Under this service, a link will be sent to the registered mobile number of the appellants from the court of the State Information Commissioner. Using the link, the appellant can directly join the hearing in the case of a second appeal under the Right to Information Act.
