Congress holds crucial meeting at Agriculture Minister’s bungalow

Health Minister T S Singhdeo said he has been approached by many parties, but he is not leaving the Congress

Ahead of the monsoon session of the Chhattisgarh legislative assembly and Assembly elections in the state, the ruling Congress party on Wednesday held a crucial meeting at the residence of Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Congress State Incharge Kumari Selja, Assembly Speaker Dr Charandas Mahant, Health Minister T S Singhdeo, Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, Pradesh Congress Committee president Mohan Markam and Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar were present to discuss election strategies as well as strategies to counter the opposition in the monsoon session.
Post the meeting Singhdeo told media that preparations for the assembly elections have been discussed. The next meeting may be held on June 22. To a query, Singhdeo said that he has been approached by many parties and people of different political groups, but he is not leaving the Congress party.
PCC Chief Mohan Markam too said that the election strategies have been discussed in the meeting. “Our frontline leaders will visit to the booths. BJP’s Operation Lotus will not be successful in Chhattisgarh, he said.
Earlier, just after the conference in Bastar, a meeting was held at Minister Mohammad Akbar’s bungalow and now after the end of the divisional conference in Ambikapur, this meeting has been held at Ravindra Choubey’s bungalow.
Kumari Selja is trying her best to create an equation between the organizations and therefore political meetings are being held in the ministers’ bungalows, said party sources. Apart from this, the health of Minister Ravindra Choubey has been unwell for some time. All the three leaders have also enquired about his wellbeing.
Immediately after the divisional conference in Bastar on June 3, a meeting was held with a dinner party at Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar’s bungalow. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, State In-charge Kumari Selja, Assembly Speaker Charandas Mahant, Urban Administration Minister Shiv Dahriya, State President Mohan Markam, Satyanarayan Sharma and Dhanendra Sahu were present.
