Chhattisgarh CM Baghel urges BJP to trust state police in the murder investigation
The chief minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel, visited Rajnandgaon and spoke about the Naxal problem. He stated that people can now travel through the Darbha Valley alone at night, whereas during Raman Singh’s rule, they couldn’t pass through during the day. He also mentioned that Raman Singh neglected Rajnandgaon’s development during his 15-year tenure as chief minister and the district is classified as a backward district.
Regarding the murder of BJP leaders by Naxalites, Bhupesh Baghel said that the police are investigating and condemning the murders. He suggested that if the Bharatiya Janata Party doesn’t trust the state police, they can get the NIA to investigate but should not politicize the matter.
As a guest, he attended the annual function of Government Digvijay College and unveiled the statue of Shivaji at Shivaji Park in the city. He then partook in the All India Hockey Competition and encouraged the players, announcing Rs 2 crore for floodlights and a pavilion for night competitions in the International Hockey Stadium.
The Chief Minister left for the capital, Raipur, after his speech at the hockey stadium and did not participate in the prize distribution of the final competition.
