Health dept issues show cause notices to 47 male health workers of14 districts, disciplinary action on five
Raipur: The Health Department has taken action against the employees showing negligence in their allocated work under the intensive TB and leprosy screening campaign. The department has taken disciplinary action against 47 male health workers from 14 districts. Action for suspension, stoppage of annual increment and departmental inquiry has been taken against these negligent employees.
Under the National Tuberculosis Eradication Programme (NTEP), an intensive TB and leprosy screening campaign was launched in the state in two phases. In the first phase Mitanins went door-to-door and prepared a list of potential patients on the basis of symptoms of TB and leprosy. Monitoring the work being done by Mitanins and on the basis of the list prepared by them, the male health workers of the area concerned were to visit the patients’ doorsteps again and get them tested. In addition, if the identified and suspected patients of TB and leprosy could not go to the nearest health center for examination, samples were to be collected from the houses of such patients and sent to the nearest DMC or testing center for quick confirmation of the disease to start medication.
Health and Family Welfare Secretary Prasanna R. had instructed all the health workers to work seriously during the campaign. He had asked to take disciplinary action against the employees who were negligent in their work. Director of Health Services Bhim Singh issued show cause notices against the employees who were negligent during the campaign work to Chief Medical and Health Officers of the districts concerned directing them to take disciplinary action against them.
In compliance with the instructions issued, show cause notices has been issued to nine male health workers of Janjgir-Champa district, eight of Surguja, six each of Dantewada and Mahasamund, three each of Surajpur, Kabirdham and Raigarh, two each of Durg, Kondagaon, Balrampur-Ramanujganj and Gariaband and one each of Raipur, Korba and Gariaband. Show cause notices were issued to each and every male health worker of Dhamtari. Action has been taken to suspend one health worker, departmental inquiry against two employees and stoppage of salary increment of two employees has been taken after their replies were not found to be satisfactory.
