BJP candidate for Bhanpuratappur by-poll in trouble after Jharkhand police reach Kanker for his arrest

BJP workers started gathering at the residence of party’s candidate for Bhanupratappur by-poll, Bramhanand Netam, after Jharkhand police reached Kanker for the arrest of Netam in connection with a rape case registered in Jharkhand’s Telco police station in May, 2019.

Police may have to face opposition from BJP leaders. Earlier, the team raided the house of Dipankar Sinha, District Treasurer of BJP Yuva Morcha. But he was not found at home. According to his mother, Dipankar was not at home for the last 5 days.

Jharkhand Police raided the house of another gang rape accused Naresh Soni in Charama. Bramhanand Netam also has a house in Charama. From here the team can raid Brahmanand Netam’shouse after paperwork. 

The team also raided the house of constable Keshav Sinha but could not find him. Jharkhand Police has so far gone to the houses of three people. Chhattisgarh Police has already suspended the accused after the constable’s name surfaced. Keshav Sinha’s house is near Charama.

BJP state president Arun Sao has accused the Congress of conspiring to implicate Brahmanand in this whole matter. Saosaid that the Congress did not object on the day of scrutiny. Seeing the defeat in the by-election, the Congress has conspired to arrest Brahmanand Netam. On December 5, the people of Bhanupratappur will work to teach a lesson to the Congress by voting in favor of their son Brahmanand in favor of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

It was told that Netam’s name is tossed up in the investigation of the FIR registered on May 15, 2019 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. It is a crime of gang rape and forced prostitution of a 15 year old girl.

Five people were named accused in this case. When the police started the investigation, two people from Chhattisgarh were also arrested. After that the challan was presented. Its investigation report also includes the names of former MLAs Brahmanand Netam and Dipankar Sinha, residents of Charama. Five accused have been arrested in the case and the investigation is still going on. Congress alleges that Dipankar Sinha, an accused in this case, is also the district treasurer of BJYM. The Congress has also complained about Brahmanand Netam to the Election Commission.

The role of a constable of Raipur police has also come to the fore in this case. SSP Prashant Agrawal has suspended constableKeshavram Sinha and attached the police line. It is being told that this constable is also a resident of Charama in Kanker. Former MLA Brahmanand Netam also belongs to Charama. 

With the suspension of the constable posted at Rajendra Nagar police station in Raipur, SSP Prashant Agrawal had handed over the investigation of the case to the women’s cell. The SSP had ordered the deputy SP of IUCAW, a special unit for investigation of crime against women, to investigate the matter. It is being told that this unit has also interrogated many people in the matter.

Congress State President Mohan Markam, in a press conference in Kanker, made several serious allegations against BJP candidate Brahmanand Netam, including gang rape of a minor and pushing her into prostitution. He had put this thing in front of the media with evidence.

Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel hit back BJP saying the opposition was challenging the Jharkhand police to arrest Netam. Now the police have reached. The BJP should not be worried of police if it is clean, said the chief minister.
