AIIMS and IIM will jointly conduct research in hospital management.

Raipur. The capital’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) have signed an MoU on cooperation in hospital management. Following the agreement, they can now work on joint research projects, including health economics and financial management.

AIIMS Director Prof. (Dr.) Nitin M. Nagarkar and IIM Director Prof. Ramkumar Kakani said that this would enable faculty development programmes, internships for students, joint projects and case writing by the teachers of both the institutes. Prof. Nagarkar said that IIM is one of the leading emerging management institutes in the country, and AIIMS can take advantage of its expertise in hospital management and better medical facilities. Both institutes together can also run professional courses jointly for the students.

Giving information about the ongoing research in the institute, Prof Kakani said that the institute has fast become one of the premier research institutes in the country. The institute’s effort is to investigate new research possibilities. He also proposed that AIIMS medical students learn soft skills.
