Forest Department’s Sports Meet from October 16, 3,000 Players to Participate, Suryakumar Yadav to Attend

The Forest Department is organizing a sports meet in Raipur from October 16 to 20. The 27th All India Forest Sports Competition will see over 3,000 players and guests from Forest Departments across the country participating. Indian T20 cricket team captain and star batsman Suryakumar Yadav will be the special guest at the opening ceremony. 2024 Olympic bronze medalist Manu Bhaker has already confirmed her participation.

The competition will feature 23 types of sports, including both indoor and outdoor events. Preparations have already begun at the selected sports venues. On Friday, the Chief of the Forest Force, Srinivas Rao, inspected the sports fields. He also visited Kota Stadium, where the opening and closing ceremonies will be held.
Rao reviewed the arrangements and issued several instructions to the officials. He expressed that this event is a matter of pride for the department, and the entire Forest Department is making every effort to ensure its success at all levels.

The event’s nodal officer, Shalini Raina, stated that the Hill Myna has been chosen as the logo for this year’s sports meet. In 2019-20, the Wild Buffalo was used as the logo when the event was last held here. The Hill Myna was selected for its unique qualities, aiming to raise awareness about the species. This is the 27th edition of the Forest Department’s sports event and the second time it is being hosted in Chhattisgarh.
