RAIPUR: Raipur Commissionerate Police inspected 89 establishments—including 81 hotels, 7 lodges, and 1 dharamshala—across seven police station areas in the Central Zone on Monday during a special drive aimed at curbing crime and monitoring suspicious elements.
The operation was directed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Zone) Tarkeshwar Patel and supervised by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Vivek Shukla. Inspection teams covered the jurisdictions of Kotwali, Golbazar, Ganj, Moudhapara, Civil Lines, Devendra Nagar, and Telibandha police stations.
Police officers verified guest identities, checked physical and online booking registers, and inspected the functioning of CCTV systems. Establishment owners were instructed not to allot rooms without valid government-issued ID cards and to maintain updated guest records.
During the drive, officers briefed 68 hotel operators on the use of the ‘Samadhan’ mobile application, enabling quick reporting of suspicious persons or activities. Inspection teams also issued notices to 9 operators after finding deficiencies in CCTV coverage and register maintenance. Additionally, the credentials of 17 suspicious persons found on the premises were verified.
DCP Tarkeshwar Patel directed hotel and lodge managements to ensure continuous CCTV recording, complete employee verification, and immediately report any unusual activities to the nearest police station, warning that legal action would be taken against violators.
Police said similar inspection drives will continue across the city and appealed to citizens and commercial establishments to share information about suspicious movements with the Police Control Room.
