Raipur police extern history-sheeter Monika Sachdev for 2 months

RAIPUR

Raipur police have externed history-sheeter Monika Sachdev from Raipur and five adjoining districts for two months to maintain law and order.

Issued under the Chhattisgarh State Security Act, 1990, the order debars the 35-year-old active gang member from entering Raipur, Durg, Dhamtari, Mahasamund, Baloda Bazar, and Gariyaband districts.

Sachdev, a resident of Rawatpura Colony in the Tikrapara police station area, faces 17 criminal cases registered since 2005 across City Kotwali, Tikrapara, Golbazar, and Civil Lines police stations. The charges against her include assault, extortion, robbery, and offences under the Excise Act and the NDPS Act.

Police Commissioner Dr Sanjeev Shukla issued the externment order based on an inquiry report submitted by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone). The report revealed that Sachdev’s activities spread terror among Rawatpura Colony residents, preventing witnesses and local citizens from lodging complaints.
