Raipur police arrest 55 absconders in week-long drive

RAIPUR: Raipur Police conducted a week-long special crackdown across the West Zone, arresting 55 absconding criminals and executing 76 pending court warrants. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone) Sandeep Patel to curb anti-social activities and the illegal drug trade.
The coordinated drive involved the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), Assistant Commissioners of Police, and Station House Officers (SHOs). Police teams raided suspected hideouts, executed pending warrants, and targeted offenders involved in drug trafficking, illegal liquor trade, and stabbing incidents to strengthen law and order.
Major achievements of the drive
- 55 absconding criminals were arrested and produced before the court.
- 76 permanent and arrest warrants were executed.
- 53 bootleggers and drug traffickers were booked under the Excise Act and the NDPS Act.
- 47 fresh criminal cases were registered during the campaign.
- Police swiftly solved three stabbing incidents by arresting the accused.
Station-wise performance
- Tikrapara Police Station recorded the highest action by arresting 8 absconders and executing 24 warrants.
- D.D. Nagar Police Station took action against 13 drug traffickers and executed 9 warrants.
- Azad Chowk Police Station arrested two accused in a serious criminal case.
- Purani Basti Police Station arrested an accused under the NDPS Act and seized illegal contraband.
- Mujgahan Police Station, along with other police stations, carried out regular checks on history-sheeters and anti-social elements to maintain public order.
The West Zone Police said such special operations will continue to apprehend habitual offenders, execute pending court warrants, and eliminate the illegal drug trade.
