The Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, has appointed Prof Rajeev Choudhary as the Chairman of the National Committee for the allocation of All India Inter-University Sports Championships for the 2026–27 session.
Prof Choudhary currently serves as the Dean of Student Welfare, Head of the School of Studies in Law, and Head of the School of Studies in Physical Education at Pt Ravishankar Shukla University (PRSU), Raipur. He has also served as the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education.
The AIU National Committee will evaluate proposals from universities across the country to allocate hosting rights for various championships. Decisions will depend on criteria such as sports infrastructure, accommodation, transport, medical facilities, human resources, and prior tournament management experience.

Prof Choudhary has participated in the National Kabaddi Championships three times, winning one gold and one bronze medal. He represented his university in kabaddi, wrestling, judo, and weightlifting at the All India Inter-University level, and captained the university teams in judo, wrestling, and kabaddi.
He won a bronze medal in the All India Inter-University Judo Championship and holds a Second Dan Black Belt Diploma. He has also served as an AIU Observer at multiple national-level sports competitions.
Prof Choudhary holds both PhD and D-Litt degrees. Members of the university sports fraternity stated that his appointment brings recognition to Pt Ravishankar Shukla University and the state of Chhattisgarh.
