Light Rain, Thunderstorms and Lightning Likely in Chhattisgarh on June 3

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light rain and thundershowers at isolated places across Chhattisgarh on Wednesday (June 3), with the possibility of squally winds and lightning in some areas of the state.
Meteorological Centre, Raipur officials stated that weather conditions are changing due to multiple weather systems active over central India.
An upper-air cyclonic circulation persists over eastern Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Chhattisgarh, extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.
A trough extends from eastern Madhya Pradesh to northeast Tamil Nadu at an altitude of 0.9 km.
Another trough stretches from central Pakistan to the West Bengal coast through Chhattisgarh, extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.
One or two places in the state are likely to receive light rainfall or experience thundershowers on 3 June. The weather department has also warned of squally winds and lightning at isolated locations.
Maximum temperatures across the state are expected to remain largely steady over the next 24 hours, though minor fluctuations may occur.
According to temperature readings recorded at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, Raipur registered a maximum temperature of 39.6°C, followed by Bilaspur at 38.8°C. Ambikapur recorded 33.8°C, while Jagdalpur reported 27.4°C. Pendra Road remained the coolest station at 24°C.
The IMD has advised residents to remain alert and avoid taking shelter under trees, near electric poles, or electrical installations during lightning events.
