Korea police’s Nijaat campaign receives support from Bollywood and Chhattisgarhi film stars
Raipur: “Nijat” campaign started by the Korea police to fight the drug menace is receiving support from the Bollywood and Chhattisgarh film fraternity.
Padmashree Anuj Sharma, Padmavibhushan Teejan Bai, the first female artist of Pandwani folk song-drama, Padmashree Mamta Chandrakar, Zakir Hussain, Gopal K Singh, Yogesh Agarwal, Prakash Awasthi have extended support to the campaign.
Earlier, support has been given by famous Jasgeet singers of Chhattisgarh Dilip Shadangi, Rakesh Sharma, Mona Sen, Sunil Tiwari, and Anchal Sharma. Besides, Bollywood artists Prabhudheva, Arbaaz Khan, Rajpal Yadav, Kailash Kher, Sunil Grover, Virendra Saxena, Bhagwan Tiwari have also supported the Korea police’s campaign.
The Korea police is working on a mission mode to tackle the drug menace. 130 arrests have been made in narcotics in 105 cases, while 515 arrests have been made in 481 cases in the illegal sale of liquor so far since July.
The campaign is constantly getting public support. More than 165 public awareness programs, counseling of hundreds of drug addicts have been done. Under the direction of Korea SP Santosh Singh, effective action is being taken on a large scale in the campaign against drugs, narcotics, and illicit liquor and public awareness campaign is being conducted.
At present, a program is being organized in every small and big town and village of Korea district under the campaign to make Korea a drug-free district. The chariot of the Nijat campaign is traveling in every police station area of Korea district. Along with this, 130 arrests have been made in 105 cases in narcotics since July, while 515 arrests have been made in 481 cases, keeping a check on the sale of illegal liquor.
More than 165 public awareness campaigns have been conducted by the station in-charge of Korea Police and at present, the program is also dynamic. Together with the police station in-charges and gazetted officers, more than 126 drug addicts have been counseled.
