1219 candidates file 1985 nomination papers for 70 constituencies going to poll in Chhattisgarh on November 17

Raipur As many as 1985 nomination papers were filed by 1219 candidates for the 70 legislative assembly constituencies which are going to the Chhattisgarh legislative assembly elections in the second phase on November 17. The last day for filing nomination papers for the second phase saw a total of 1245 papers submitted. It is worth mentioning that the second phase of the Chhattisgarh Assembly election 2023 includes a total of 70 legislative assembly constituencies from Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, and Surguja divisions. The scrutiny of nomination papers for the second phase will be conducted on Tuesday. Candidates can withdraw their names by November 2 for the second phase. In the second phase, on November 17, a total of 163,144,479 voters, including 81,416,24 male voters, 81,721,171 female voters, and 684 transgender voters, will exercise their voting rights. In the Chhattisgarh Assembly Election 2023, some of the high-profile seats include Patan, Ambikapur, Lormi, Bharatpur-Sonhat, Korba, Marwahi, Kota, Mungeli, Bilaspur, Jangir-Champa, Sakti, Raipur Rural, Raipur West, Raipur Nagar North, Raipur South, Arang, Abhanpur, Kurud, Dhamtari, Sanjari Balod, Gundardehi, Durg Rural, Durg City, Bhilai Nagar, Vaishali Nagar, Ahiwara, Saja and Bemetara. The fate of chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, former chief minister Dr Raman Singh, BJP state president Arun Sao, Congress president Deepak Baij, leader of opposition Narayan Chandel, deputy chief minister T S Singhdeo and other senior leaders will be sealed on November 17.
