The National Medical Commission (NMC) approved 100 MBBS seats for Korba Medical College for the academic session 2022-23 on Sunday, following the recognition of hundred seats each for Kanker and Mahasamund’s new medical colleges. On Sunday, the commission sent a letter of intent to the Dean of the college.
Korba Medical College will begin academic activities with it this session. The National Medical Commission granted permission for 100 seats after evaluating and supervising the resources and facilities provided by the state government to Korba Medical College.
Meanwhile, Medical Education Minister TS. Singhdeo congratulated the people on the approval of the state’s three new medical colleges, including Korba. He stated that with the addition of 300 MBBS seats in government medical colleges, more youth in the state will now have the opportunity to become doctors. People will now receive specialised medical care at hospitals affiliated with these medical schools.
