It was always in my mind that, Yes, I have to contest elections, but this time I don’t want to contest elections.

With this statement of T S Singhdeo, discussions have started in the politics of Chhattisgarh. By the way, a week ago, after the meeting of the Surguja Development Authority in Surajpur, TS Singhdeo had said that he may take a big decision before the elections. He said, ‘I will decide about my future before the elections’.

TS Singhdeo is said to be angry over the two-and-a-half-year formula for the Chief Minister in the state. TS Singhdeo also held the post of state panchayat minister, but he resigned this year.

TS Singhdeo has become MLA for the third consecutive time from the Ambikapur assembly seat. In 2013, he was the Leader of the Opposition in Chhattisgarh. In the 2018 assembly elections, TS Singhdeo prepared the Congress manifesto. TS Singhdeo’s father, Madaneshwar Sharan Singhdeo, also used to be the Chief Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh government.

Health Minister TS Singhdeo had said that no one becomes the Chief Minister by himself, nor can he become. It has a process. Everything is on the high command as it decides.

He said I will decide about my future before the elections. I haven’t thought about it yet. Later, answering the questions of the media, TS Singhdeo said everyone’s future remains uncertain. What to decide next is decided when the time comes. I or Bhupesh or any other person do not become Chief Minister by themselves, nor can he become one in any party. That is our process. There is a protocol to decide who has to become the Chief Minister. That would be a different matter.
