Police make a Breakthrough in a High profile theft case.

Bilaspur. In a significant breakthrough, the Bilaspur Police, in a joint operation with the Civil Lines Police, have made substantial progress in the investigation of a high-profile theft case. The incident, reported by Sarjoni Sahu and her husband Tulsi Ram from Abhishek Nagar Bilaspur, involved the burglary of their residence, where cash, gold, and silver ornaments were stolen.

Following the swift response, the police registered a case at Civil Line Police Station under Sections 454, 380, 414, and 120b of the IPC. As a result of their relentless efforts, a total of Rs 53,58,000 in cash has been recovered and seized from the accused involved in the case so far. The investigation is ongoing, with further details and facts being obtained from the victims and other sources.
The latest breakthrough in the case came when the police managed to apprehend two key suspects, Satish Kashyap alias Golu Kashyap and Mukesh Dhuri, both residents of Nevsa Nagpura police station, Ratanpur district, Bilaspur. Satish Kashyap, who had been on the run and had switched off his mobile phone, was eventually traced to the inter-state bus stand in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
Upon arresting Satish Kashyap, the police seized substantial evidence related to the crime, including a staggering sum of Rs 12,38,000 in cash, approximately half a kilogramme of silver ornaments, and a Maruti Celerio car with licence plate number CG10AJ9604. The police suspect that Satish Kashyap stored the stolen money and jewellery at his residence while distributing some of the proceeds to Mukesh Kori.
In the previous phase of the investigation, the police had already recovered Rs 41,20,000 in cash, gold and silver jewellery valued at around Rs 3 lakh. Seven individuals involved in the crime were arrested and subsequently remanded in judicial custody. However, one more suspect remains at large, and the search to apprehend them is still ongoing.
Due to the substantial amount of cash recovered in connection with the case, the authorities have taken additional steps to ensure a thorough investigation. The police have notified the Income Tax Department.
