PM Narendra Modi expressed grief over the loss of 11 lives in the Baloda Bazaar accident and announced ex-gratia from PMNRF.

Raipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the loss of eleven lives, including four children, in a fierce accident in Chhattisgarh’s Baloda Bazaar district on Thursday. The PMO social media handle said it was “pained by the loss of lives due to an accident in Baloda Bazaar-Bhatapara district, Chhattisgarh”. Condolences to the bereaved families. “May the injured recover soon. PM”.
The PMO also announced that the PMNRF would make an ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh to the next of kin of each person killed in the accident. The injured would be given Rs. 50000 each.
Meanwhile, the opposition leader in the Chhattisgarh legislative assembly, Narayan Chandel, demanded adequate compensation from the state government for the accident victims while expressing his condolences. BJP state presidents Arun Sao and Ajay Chandrakar raised the issue of the safety of the common public following the accident.
According to the leaders, the government is hosting a Congress convention, which is keeping administrative and police machinery busy and leaving people in the lurch.
Ajay Chandrakar also questioned if the police are checking luxury vehicles coming from Indore, Nagpur, Delhi, Mumbai, etc.
At least 11 people were killed and several others injured after a pickup vehicle collided with a truck in the Baloda Bazaar-Bhatapara district of Chhattisgarh last night.
