Journalist Mukesh Chandrakar’s Alleged Murder Shocks Media Fraternity

Raipur: Bijapur-based journalist Mukesh Chandrakar has allegedly been brutally murdered, leaving the media world in shock. His body was discovered hidden in a septic tank.

Chandrakar, a renowned journalist, YouTuber, and administrator of YouTube channel “Bastar Junction,” had been missing since January 1, the first day of the new year. Concerned family members filed a missing person complaint with the Bijapur police, prompting an extensive search operation.

On Friday, the investigation took a significant turn when the police uncovered crucial evidence. Acting on these leads, they excavated a septic tank at a contractor’s site in Bijapur, where they discovered Chandrakar’s body. Preliminary reports suggest that the murder might have been linked to a dispute over alleged corruption in a road construction project involving the contractor. It is feared that this dispute led to Chandrakar’s disappearance and subsequent murder.

The Bastar police are expected to provide a detailed statement on the case soon. Currently, efforts are underway to recover the body for further investigation.

Chandrakar’s tragic demise highlights the perils faced by courageous journalists in their pursuit of truth and justice. His death has sent shockwaves across the media fraternity and raised serious concerns about the safety of journalists in conflict zones like Bastar.
