In Bilaspur, two constables from the Kota police station were suspended for their suspected involvement in illegal liquor proceedings, and after an investigation, the salary of a female constable was reduced for leaking information about another case’s proceedings.

The Superintendent of Police, Bilaspur, is actively conducting action and awareness campaigns against drugs. The Superintendent of Police has instructed officers to maintain high vigilance and take continuous action against drug peddlers, ensuring no laxity in enforcement efforts.
A week ago, the police seized 26 cases of illicit liquor from a distillery in the Kota area. They registered an FIR, and three accused got jailed. The investigation uncovered the involvement of distillery employees, who are being actively searched for their connivance in the matter. During the above proceedings, constables Ashish Vastrakar and Mithilesh Sonwani of Kota police station were found acting suspiciously, on whose information Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh had sent them to the guarded centre on verbal orders. After a preliminary investigation, the Superintendent of Police suspended both constables.
In another case last year, a departmental inquiry was conducted at the Pachpedi police station about a woman constable leaking information during a liquor raid. On finding the investigation proven, the Superintendent of Police has reduced the salary with cumulative effect and has ordered the said woman constable, Chanda Yadav, to be posted in the police line. The Superintendent of Police is taking quick and strict action against officers found negligent in their protection and duty.
