Divisional Commissioner Reviews Revenue Operations and Advocates Efficient Case Resolution in Raipur District

Raipur: Divisional Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Alang chaired a meeting of revenue officers from the Raipur district and inspected the Tehsil-Collectorate office. He emphasized the swift resolution of disputed and undisputed revenue cases to reduce pending cases. The Revenue Department directly engages with the general public, encompassing people from diverse backgrounds who bring forth their daily concerns and issues. These matters significantly impact their lives and futures. Dr. Sanjay Alang stressed the importance of attentive listening and efficient problem-solving to minimize repeat visits to government offices.

He pointed out that frequent extensions of court dates result in unnecessary time and financial expenditures for all parties involved. He encouraged efforts to convene parties only when essential, ensuring prompt case adjudications and reducing backlogs. The focus should be on settlement and minimizing litigation. He also emphasized resolving demarcation cases.

Tehsil Office Inspection.

 Commissioner Sanjay Alang personally inspected the Raipur Tehsil office, aiming to optimize government facilities for citizens visiting the office. He stressed the timely resolution of revenue-related matters such as nomination and demarcation. Streamlined processes would lead to fewer revisits. He underscored the importance of obtaining income, caste, and residence certificates.

During the Nazir branch inspection, the commissioner noted discrepancies in register maintenance and directed a show-cause notice for rectification. At the WBN branch, Dr. Sanjay Alang scrutinized registers closely and issued directives to rectify any inadequacies. The then-tehsildar was also instructed to provide information.

Collectorate Office Examination.

 Dr. Sanjay Alang extended his inspection to the collectorate office, closely examining various branches and providing necessary instructions to officers regarding the Revenue Courts’ functioning. He discussed copy applications and met local advocates to understand and address delays in copy issuance. Dr. Sanjay Alang suggested a systematic timetable for applicants to avoid difficulties.

The commissioner instructed proper record-keeping and validation for the inward-outward branch. He stressed correct maintenance of the stock register, suggesting verification. During the inspection of the Rent Control Branch, Dr. Sanjay Alang set a limit of six cases and emphasized accurate maintenance of cash books and registration registers during the Nazul branch inspection.

Meeting of Revenue Officers. 

Following the inspection, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Alang convened a meeting of revenue officers. He instructed Tehsildars regarding demarcation, encroachments, map distribution, etc. The efficient functioning of the WBN in the Tehsil office was underscored, along with regular register maintenance and review by the Tehsildar. He highlighted the importance of time-saving measures for citizens and the effective utilization of government facilities.

Dr. Sanjay Alang’s instructions included a directive to reduce case backlogs. The Collector emphasized compliance with the Divisional Commissioner’s suggestions to ensure efficient operations. The district administration organized a revenue camp in Raipur Tehsil and launched a campaign for caste and residence certificates through door-to-door interactions. Present at the meeting were ADM N.R. Sahu, B.B. Panchbhai, B.C. Sahu and Gajendra Thakur, along with all relevant SDMs and officers.
