Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s major announcement for government employees in Supplementary Budget

Raipur

In a move aimed at benefiting government employees, Chief Minister  Bhupesh Baghel unveiled a series of significant gifts during the supplementary budget announcement. The measures include a 4% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per the 7th Pay Scale.

The decision to increase DA by 4% will directly impact approximately 500,000 government employees, resulting in a notable boost to their cost of living allowance. Additionally, with the implementation of the seventh pay scale, government employees will now be eligible for increased House Rent Allowance, providing them with improved housing benefits.

The Chief Minister also raised the salaries of contractual workers by an impressive 27%. This move will not only enhance the livelihoods of these workers but also contribute to overall economic growth. Furthermore, daily wage earners will experience a substantial increase of 4000 rupees per month, providing them with much-needed financial relief.

The welfare of Panchayat secretaries was not overlooked either, as they received a special allowance increase ranging from 2500 to 3000 rupees per month. Similarly, Patwaris, also known as village revenue officers, were granted a monthly resource allowance. The state’s police constables were not left out, receiving an annual kit allowance of 8000 rupees.

The implementation of these initiatives will involve an estimated expense of 2000 crores. However, the government believes that the positive impact on employee morale, productivity, and overall well-being will outweigh the financial burden.

Furthermore, to address housing challenges faced by deserving families, the Chief Minister introduced the “Gramin Awas NyayYojana” under the Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme. This initiative will see the maximum support amount increase from 20 lakhs to 25 lakhs, empowering more families to access housing benefits.
