Chhattisgarh Waqf Board Chairman Receives Threat from Pakistan : Dr. Salim Raj Files Police Complaint Following Statement on Friday Prayers

Dr. Salim Raj, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Waqf Board, has reportedly received a threat from Pakistan. He lodged a complaint at Azad Chowk Police Station, stating that the threat was conveyed via phone. Following the complaint, the police have launched an investigation into the matter.
Dr Raj had recently issued verbal instructions mandating that mosques in Chhattisgarh seek prior approval from the Waqf Board regarding the topics of speeches delivered after Friday prayers.
This decision was made by members of the Chhattisgarh Waqf Board to ensure that the topics remain non-controversial. Any mutawalli (caretaker of mosque properties) failing to adhere to this rule will face legal action.
Dr. Raj has filed a formal complaint with the police at Azad Chowk station, prompting an investigation.
The Chhattisgarh Waqf Board has mandated prior approval for topics of speeches delivered after Friday prayers in the state’s mosques. To prevent controversial subjects, this decision was unanimously taken by the board members. Any mutawalli who fails to comply with the rule will face legal action.
