The Cabinet also cleared a proposal to rename the Tribal Caste Development Department as the Tribal Affairs Department.
The Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai during Shardiya Navratri, also passed a congratulatory motion marking 25 years of leadership under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Investment proposals worth ₹8.5 lakh crore
Highlighting the state’s economic and administrative initiatives, the government said Chhattisgarh had enacted the Ease of Doing Business Act, 2026, introducing deemed approvals and single-window clearance mechanisms. The state has received investment proposals worth ₹8.50 lakh crore, which are expected to generate more than 1.60 lakh jobs.
On infrastructure development, the government cited ₹35,766 crore sanctioned for national highways, including the six-lane Raipur-Visakhapatnam Expressway and the four-lane Bilaspur-Urga-Pathalgaon route. Railway projects worth nearly ₹54,000 crore are also underway in the state.

The Cabinet also highlighted joint efforts by the Centre and state security forces against Left-wing extremism, claiming that the Naxalite menace in Bastar had reached a decisive turning point by March 31, 2026. The government said this had opened up opportunities to expand peace, education and healthcare infrastructure under the Niyad Nellanar Yojana.
The Cabinet’s decisions included recruitment of former Agniveers against the 36 available constable vacancies, with 10% category-wise reservation, and an amendment to the Chhattisgarh Government Allocation of Business Rules to change the department’s name to the Tribal Affairs Department.
